Bring any API: OpenAPI import for custom pipelines

Have an API we don't have a connector for yet? Drop in its OpenAPI/Swagger spec and Databasin builds the ingestion configuration for you — endpoints, pagination, and schemas included.

Our native connector catalog grows every month — but the long tail of APIs is infinite. Now there's a fast path for all of it.

How it works

The Generic API connector can now import an OpenAPI/Swagger specification (JSON or YAML). From the spec, Databasin automatically detects:

  • Endpoints worth ingesting
  • Pagination strategy, so multi-page datasets pull completely
  • Schemas, so your data lands typed and structured

A few weeks later we added OAuth2 authorization support (February 27) for secured APIs, covering the auth pattern most modern SaaS platforms use.

The result: any documented REST API — your industry-specific SaaS, your internal services, that niche tool only your team uses — becomes a scheduled, incremental data pipeline in minutes. No connector request, no waiting, no custom code.

And when an API matters enough to deserve the full native treatment — curated semantic models, validated fields, guided setup — that catalog keeps growing too. OpenAPI import covers everything in between.
