Databasin One

Published dashboards can now talk

Publish a dashboard to the Gallery with "Explore the data" enabled, and anyone viewing it gets a built-in chat locked to that dashboard's tables. The next question no longer needs a ticket to the data team.

A dashboard answers the question it was built for. The trouble starts with the next question — "okay, but is that concentrated in one region?" — which used to mean finding whoever built it.

Now the dashboard itself can answer. When you publish to the Gallery, flip on Explore the data and every viewer gets an embedded Databasin One chat scoped to exactly the tables behind that dashboard.

How it works

  • Opt-in per dashboard — publishers decide whether a dashboard invites questions
  • Locked to the dashboard's own data — the chat can only query the tables the tiles were built from, so answers stay on the same governed footing as the charts
  • Full Databasin One answers — charts, tables, and plain-English explanations, each citing the query it ran

It's the difference between a report and a conversation — and it means the person with the question gets the answer while they're still looking at the chart that raised it.
